Senior Integration Architect

Job Description

Our client is a European industrial group consolidating a dozen regional ERP instances onto a single SAP S/4HANA core. The work is integration architecture around the new core, not ABAP development. You design on SAP BTP Integration Suite and build the API management, OData and IDoc interfaces, event-driven flows to MES, WMS, and PLM, and EDI with suppliers. You own the interface contracts for 20+ connected systems and govern how each exchanges data with S/4HANA as rollout waves land. You work embedded in the client's S/4HANA program, under the client's direction, alongside the SAP template team, integration developers, and business process owners in logistics and production.

What you'll be doing

• Own the integration architecture for the S/4HANA consolidation, spanning 20+ connected systems
• Design integration flows on SAP BTP Integration Suite: Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh
• Govern interface contracts across the landscape: versioning, error handling, and ownership for OData, IDoc, and REST interfaces
• Build event-driven integration between S/4HANA and the group's MES, WMS, and PLM systems
• Migrate supplier and logistics EDI flows onto the new integration platform during each rollout wave
• Run the integration design authority, reviewing designs from implementation teams and system vendors
• Define monitoring and alerting standards for production interfaces, from message failures to queue backlogs

What you'll need

• 12+ years of enterprise integration experience, including architecture ownership on at least one large ERP program
• Hands-on production experience with at least one major integration platform: SAP BTP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, or Boomi
• Working knowledge of SAP integration technology: OData services, IDocs, RFCs, and the S/4HANA API surface
• Experience with API management: policies, versioning, and onboarding internal and external consumers
• Experience designing asynchronous, event-driven integration between enterprise applications
• EDI experience (EDIFACT or ANSI X12), including supplier and logistics-provider onboarding
• A record of governing interface contracts in multi-vendor programs running parallel rollout waves
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Based in the EU with working hours overlapping CET

Nice to have

• German at B2 or above, since supplier and plant contacts often work in German
• SAP Integration Suite or SAP BTP certification
• Domain experience in discrete manufacturing or automotive supply chains
• Familiarity with S/4HANA logistics processes (MM, SD, PP) from the integration side
• Availability for occasional business travel within the EU
